Hello, my name is
Chitra Soundar and I'm a writer, author and storyteller.
I'm an internationally published, award-winning author of children’s books, writer of kids TV, audio and theatre. My TV recent credits include Music Time for Netflix, Grandma Mei Stories for Audible, The Woohoos for Milkshake! TV. My young fiction book series Nikhil & Jay has been adapted for TV and is currently airing on CBeebies. I've written multiple episodes on the show and serve as one of the executive producers. I'm an active member of the Writers’ Guild and BAFTA Connect.
Nandita is a BAFTA award-winning Director/ Producer with diverse experience in children's media, indie projects and commercials.
I'm joining hands with Nandita Jain, a director, producer and animator to bring together PoC in kids TV in the UK as a collective.
If you're a PoC working in Kids TV in the UK, we want to connect with you. The plan is to create a forum for us to chat, help and support each other and also make it easy for the industry to hire us.
You can be in scripted, unscripted, live-action, animation - at any level in any role. You can be in a production role across the pipeline in any of the above aspects of Kids TV /Film / Games in the UK.
We're setting up regular meetings to connect across the UK, share resources, arrange talks and masterclasses.
